We’re delighted to be working in partnership with one of the North’s fastest growing Analytics consultancies, to source them a Database Administrator.
Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you’ll play a key role in the storage, maintenance, optimisation and organisation of exceptional data products.
This is a stand-alone role, and an exceptional opportunity.
Database Administrator Role
You will be the Database guru within the organisation, providing your knowledge and expertise to multiple clients and the internal delivery teams
You will look after, monitor, optimise and maintain databases across multiple clients and technologies
You’ll consult with clients and provide recommendations for improving their data quality and database performance
You will be implementing appropriate alerting procedures, including integration into existing support systems
You will be advising on best practice for database backups and recovery, logging and index maintenance and utilization
You will control and monitor user access to databases and maintain system security, alerting any potential security breach
Database Administrator requirements
Strong database administration and database maintenance skills
Strong relational data base experience across distributions (SQL Server, PostGreSQL, MySQL)
Excellent TSQL scripting skills
Experience of database migration and server upgrades
Experience of building a data warehouse
Working knowledge of at least one Cloud provider
Experience of moving in a fast paced, agile environment (Scrum in particular)
You’ll be proactive and take ownership
You’ll be a continuous learner, passionate about picking up new skills, and curious about new technology
Based in Leeds City Centre, our client are a well-respected data and analytics consultancy with ambitious plans to scale. They’re looking for a proactive and competent database professional to help them get there.
Travel to client sites may be required from time-to-time. The role will require periods of on call and shift work outside of normal business hours, including public holidays (typically working in shift patterns 1 week in 4)
They’re a close-working and collaborative team with a passion for data.
On offer is a basic salary of c.£60,000 + pension + share options + 25 days’ holiday + Bank Holidays (in lieu)
