IT Business Systems Analyst

We have an exclusive role for an IT Business Systems Analyst with a strong systems/technical background for a flexible, friendly and sociable organisation based in offices in Leeds city centre, doing meaningful work that impacts people’s lives. As part of a team of analysts, you will be working on a variety of small changes and projects, seeking continuously to make improvements to the business systems within the organisation.


IT Business Systems Analyst role

  • ·You’ll be joining a growing team within the IT department
  • You will be able to ‘get under the skin’ of a system, understanding how it functions, manipulates data, and ultimately, how it will be impacted by upcoming business change
  • You’ll elicit and document business requirements, and then work with architects and developers to determine and document how they can be delivered within the chosen solution.
  • You’ll have an ability to break down technical concepts for a variety of business stakeholders, from the floor to the boardroom, and champion the needs of the business in front of the technical team
  • You’ll be making a real difference within one of the UK’s best respected charities
  • You’ll have a real appetite for continuous improvement, always spotting opportunities to improve process
  • You’ll be a ‘considerate disruptor’ – be able to build bridges, push and cajole as appropriate
  • You’ll be working on a variety of web applications, internal systems and BAU projects, so you’ll need to be able to juggle and be organised (but never be bored)
  • You’ll be proactive and innovative, and in return be valued, listened to and challenged

Business Systems Analyst Skills and experience

  • You’ll be an established Business Analyst/Systems Analyst or Technical BA
  • Strong stakeholder management experience
  • Experience of financial regulatory projects would be a massive bonus
  • Confident and proficient in various requirements elicitation methods (e.g. workshops, interviews, etc.) and strong skills in requirements management, documentation and elaboration
  • Ability to recognise and document the impact of change on Business Systems
  • Able to talk to technical and non-technical people (and be understood by both)
  • You’ll be driven by ‘making things better’ and challenging the status quo
  • You’ll have an analytical mind and be detail-focused
  • Agile exposure would be beneficial
