The Project Manager Role

You will join a growing team of PMs currently operating in a 'Wagile' way, delivering projects committed to improving the lives of millions of people in the UK.

  • You’ll create and then lead multi-disciplined Agile teams, working in a Scrum environment
  • You’ll be acting as a Scrum Master for the team, facilitating and enabling, rather than dictating
  • You’ll be coaching and mentoring the team on ways of working, enabling them to deliver
  • You’ll champion both Agile and Scrum throughout the organisation
  • You'll face hurdles as you carry the beacon of change, but will be resilient, not be defeated by setbacks and have the backing of your leaders
  • You will hit the ground running, and immediately be able to set up a framework to deliver within
  • You will be proactive and comfortable taking ownership and responsibility
  • The role is diverse and you’ll see the results of your work in action
  • You will be able to manage and direct difficult conversations with senior stakeholders, challenge where needed and use your influence and negotiation skills to get the outcomes needed
  • You will hold the respect of your project team, leading them forward to deliver their projects on time and budget, and to the right quality
  • You need to be dynamic, articulate and driven, and just as comfortable in front of a Board Director as an end user or technical team member

Essential skills

  • Excellent track record of leading successful projects, delivering to time, cost and quality
  • Significant time spent leading Scrum teams is essential
  • Ability to inspire and motivate your team
